Press Release Summary: In response to the surge of interest in Sarah Palin, five
filmmakers have set out on a journey through the swing states to create a unique
documentary "My name is Sarah." The film features people named Sarah speaking about
where they're from, the country they love, and why they're supporting Barack Obama.

Press Release Body: Boston, MA (September 23, 2008) – Beginning today, a film crew
will embark on a journey through the swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana,
Michigan and New Hampshire, to create short video portraits of women named Sarah who
support Barack Obama. The project is called “My Name is Sarah” and according to
director Tanit Sakakini it came about due to the remarkable interest in Sarah Palin.
“Sarah Palin is not the only Sarah with a stake in the 2008 Presidential Race,”
says Sakakini. “There are thousands of Sarahs across the nation who reflect
America’s values and share a vision for the future of our country. They’re mothers,
workers, educators, providers and they’re voting in November for Barack Obama.”

The filmmakers involved come from Los Angeles, Boston, New York and New Hampshire
and their first stop is Selinsgrove, PA to film a Sarah there who is a 42 year old
mother of three. From there, it’s onto Toledo, Ohio and then Ypsilanti, Michigan
and Indianapolis and New Hampshire to continue compiling these portraits of Sarahs
for Obama.

Says Sakakini, “This is a viral marketing campaign speaking to undecided women in
swing states. If Sarah Palin is appealing to a certain demographic as a new sort of
“heroine,” then we’ll offer alternative Sarah heroines - each of them likeable,
relatable, and heroic in an every-day way. They are women who reflect American
values.”

In addition to the film, the group is also launching the project’s Blog which will
be the central location for all information. Here women named Sarah/Sara from across
the country (and US citizens living abroad) will post their hopes for family,
country, and for Obama as president. While they’re coming from various backgrounds,
their stories all begin the same, “My name is Sarah.” The progress of the film will
also be posted on the blog and can be found at http://mynameissarah.net.
